Pastor David Quinah is the son of Moses & Sarah Quinah and was born December 1951. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ on December 16, 1968. In his own words,
On that day, I heard from one of the preaching elders by the name of Zaccheus that Jesus died for the sins of mankind and that whosoever believes in Him has everlasting life. This message touched me, and I was compelled to place my faith in Jesus Christ. That day I was converted and soon after was baptized by full immersion.
I married my wife, Ruth Quinah, in 1970. We have been blessed with eight children with six still living. Unfortunately, during the Liberian civil war, my father and his brother were killed along with a few other close relatives. Being the only elderly man in the Quinah family, I took the responsibility of caring for the children in the family who were left without parents. In addition to the eight children born into our family, we also currently have 6 adopted children.
I graduated from high school in 1978 and because I never had anyone to help me go to college, I went into the interior to do farm work. The money earned helped me to go back to school and graduate, but this was not possible to continue because of the Liberian civil war. After the war, I entered the Jake Memorial Baptist College and obtained an Associate Degree in Theology.
After my graduation, I planted a church in the Gobachop area of Monrovia. This church is called the Victory Baptist Church, and it is here that I am presently pastoring. I have been able to train a couple of men to look after the work and it is my prayer to be able to be more fully involved in the training of new church planters through the work of VCP in the years ahead.
My favorite verse is 1 Corinthians 10:31, “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink. or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” I love this verse because it teaches that as a Christian, we should do everything to the glory of God. We are not to live our Christian life for our own glory, but for God. Neither should we live our Christian life for man’s glory. In everything, we are to put God first.
